Medical Absence

To report an illness on the day, please use the Arbor app or Portal to log the absence by 09.15am.  If your child is ill for more than one day, please update the Arbor app or Portal each day to confirm your child's absence.  

Based upon the Public Health Agency guidelines, students who have experienced vomiting and/or diarrhoea should be kept away from school for 48 hours from their last episode. Please notify the school each day to confirm your child's absence.

Medical or Dental Appointments

To report a medical or dental appointment on the day, please use the Arbor app or portal.  For all other absences, wherever possible, please inform the school in advance by emailing absent@st-peters.surrey.sch.uk (Years 7-11 only – for Sixth Form, see below).

All students in Years 7-11 must sign in and out of School Reception for health and safety purposes.  Sixth Form students must sign in and out on the iPad in Sixth Form.

Student Medication

There are a number of students in the school who take medication. The medication is stored securely in the school office. All details will be on Arbor including where a student has an Individual Healthcare Plan (IHP). 

Medication Request Form

This form should be completed when a child needs to bring any medication in to school. Please hand deliver the form to one of our receptionists with the medication in its original packaging and  please ensure that it is in date. 

Emergency Inhaler Consent

If your child carries an asthma inhaler, please ensure that they carry one with them at all times. Please also complete two forms: the Emergency Inhaler Consent Form and Asthma Action Plan (both can be found below) and hand in to school reception. If you have any medical queries, please email healthplan@st-peters.surrey.sch.uk

Adrenaline Auto-Injector (AAI)

If your child has been diagnosed with an allergy that requires a prescribed AAI, please ensure that they carry two in date AAIs with them at all times and complete the form below.  Please also supply a spare AAI to the school office.  We will also send you an IHP form to complete for our records. 

Prescribed GP Medication on Trips and Fixtures

Please note that it is the responsibility of the parent/carer to ensure that their child has any prescribed in-date medication e.g. Adrenaline Auto-Injector or asthma inhaler on them at all times.

Accidents to Students

Any student who is injured or taken ill whilst on school premises must go to reception where trained first aiders will assist them.   

Childhood Immunisations Given in School

Surrey Child and Family Health are responsible for the planning and delivery of school-age immunisation programmes in Surrey.  A schedule of immunisations that your child will be offered during their time at school is below.
