Depending on the family financial circumstances, your child may be eligible for free school meals. In addition, the school may be able to claim additional funding called Pupil Premium, which is available for all children receiving school meals and for the following six years.

Pupil Premium is additional funding given to publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged students and close the gap between them and their peers. It is an extra payment that the school receives and parents can have eligibility checked all the way through to Year 11. The funding benefits not only the children, but the school as well.
