St Peter's
Catholic School

Chaplaincy and Catholic Life

The Chaplaincy at St Peter’s is a key part of fulfilling our mission to be “Christ to All”. Students are encouraged over their time at St Peter’s to encounter God and deepen their faith through varied and creative prayer and worship. Each day starts with prayer in tutor time, and weekly Celebrations of the Word, where the Gospels are explored and applied to daily life.

Mass is celebrated weekly for anyone who wants to attend. Year group Masses take place seasonally, and all students contribute in activities to prepare themselves for full and active participation.

Tom is our full-time chaplain. His role includes facilitating collective worship, organising liturgies and retreats, and resourcing staff and students to lead prayer and worship. He is also available to everyone for both pastoral and spiritual needs.

Our Assistant Chaplain is Mrs Blackett, who is also a teacher of Religious Eduction. Mrs Blackett has over ten years experience of working at St Peter's and is also available to everyone for both pastoral and spiritual needs.

If you feel your child would benefit from speaking to our Chaplaincy Team, please contact them via email: chaplaincy@st-peters.surrey.sch.uk or by phone 01483 534654.

Our chapel is located at the front of the school, where the Blessed Sacrament is reserved. Everyone is welcome to visit the chapel for moments of prayer and reflection. The Sacrament of Reconciliation is offered here during Lent and Advent, and confession can be arranged all year round on request.
