Cultural Diversity
At St Peter’s we celebrate multiculturalism regularly through tutor time, assemblies, our Citizenship curriculum and through our Cultures Day celebrations.
In our most recent Cultures Day in 2024, students engaged in a series of discussions and lesson activities that celebrated the different cultures and nationalities that exist within our own school community through lesson activities, a specially designed canteen menu and after-school cooking and dance workshops. A group of students led on sharing their own experiences of the benefits of learning about different cultures in our Whole School Assembly and in supporting the planning of lesson activities.
Students learnt that as of 2024, there are 376 students in our school that speak at least two languages. There are 42 different nationalities within our communities, students speak 38 different languages between them. Our sixth formers also dressed in traditional dress or based on the colours of their flags (pictured).
