Mission Statement
St Peter's is a Catholic School. Our goal is to be Christ to all and create a purposeful, accepting, caring and Christian community.
We aim to do this by providing the maximum opportunity for spiritual, moral, intellectual, emotional and physical development.

Aims

Specifically we set out:
  1. To nurture, in the hearts and minds of our students, the knowledge and love of God; to challenge them with Gospel values and by our work and witness lead students to live them out in the community; to provide an experience of prayer and celebration;

  2. To encourage the acquisition of knowledge and skills such as numeracy, literacy and effective communication (oral, written, visual) and the development of the critical, analytical and reasoning powers of every individual student according to potential;

  3. To teach self-discipline and a sense of responsibility and tolerance, to develop self-confidence and to create in all students an awareness that living in a community entails accepting others;

  4. To provide an environment to enable every student to realise his/her creative potential at work and leisure;

  5. To offer the students the opportunity to obtain qualifications both formal and informal necessary for their role in a modern rapidly-changing technological society.

The school was established by the Diocese of Arundel and Brighton for children from the Catholic community of the Guildford Deanery. Students of other denominations and faiths are welcome. All are expected to take an active part in the religious life of the school. As a “mixed” school there is no segregation and boys and girls are offered the same opportunities.

Safeguarding Statement

St Peter's has adopted the Governments definition of safeguarding children and follows this in all aspects of school life. Safeguarding is "the process of protecting children from abuse or neglect, preventing impairment of their health and development, and ensuring they are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care that enables children to have optimum life chances and enter adulthood successfully".
