Careers & Higher Education

In St Peter’s Sixth Form, we offer personal support and guidance when you are making decisions about your future direction.

We discuss on an individual basis career options and advise on entry routes. Guidance in preparation for university applications includes visiting specialist events and activities to develop transferable skills to write an effective personal statement or display confidence at interview.

In Year 12 opportunities to attend university ‘taster days’ or a summer school residential course are promoted.

Our students are encouraged to take advantage of internship schemes and work placements to gain additional experience in their chosen field.

We provide comprehensive post-exam results support to ensure smooth progression into Year 13 and after A Level.

Over 95% of our university applicants claim places at their chosen university; gaining admission to a wide variety of degree courses that are appropriate for their interests, abilities and career aims.

We work closely with students planning to apply for an apprenticeship or wishing to enter employment directly and provide support writing a CV and preparing for interview.
